Exposed wood
No exposed wood surfaces means nothing for a cribber to work on. Stall walls are full height and solid between horses.

We build every panel in Cleburne, Texas and ship your barn on an 18-wheeler. You or your contractor bolt it together, with no welding on site. You skip the builder's markup and see every cost before you commit.
4-stall raised center aisle kit: $45,895 at August pricing (list $50,484.50). Freight quoted separately at $7.50/mile from Cleburne.
All-in cost, in the open
Builders fold the barn, the crew and their margin into one number. We split it out. Ulrich's part is the kit, freight and optional engineering. Your part is the foundation (a concrete slab or, at a minimum, footers under all walls and posts, not included in our price), the offload equipment and the crew, and you shop those locally. Try your own numbers.
Published prices and quotes for 4-stall barns, on one scale from $0 to $200,000. Ranges show low to high. Ulrich's bar is the kit, freight and stamp from the calculator; the dashed part is your local pad and crew.
Competitor figures are third-party published prices and owner quotes, cited below. Several exclude site prep and concrete. Carport-style steel shells can cost less, but they come without stall walls, stall fronts or kick-through panels.6
Why all-steel, for horses
Horses lean, kick, chew and sweat. Every surface they can reach is steel. Wall panels are a wood core skinned in 26-gauge steel on both sides, on a galvanized steel frame.
No exposed wood surfaces means nothing for a cribber to work on. Stall walls are full height and solid between horses.
Every wall panel carries a lifetime kick-through guarantee, in writing in Ulrich's warranty.
Frame, trusses, trim, posts and pipes are galvanized steel. The walls are painted steel with a 20-year exterior wall paint warranty.
The raised center aisle has a 16-inch roof offset and a ventilation gap under the roof. Add 24-inch overhangs, gutters and 4×4 grill sections on every stall front.
How your barn gets built
Ulrich builds and ships the kit. You or your contractor put it up. Here is who does what, and when.
Pick your model in the 3D designer and place a $500 refundable deposit. It locks August pricing and holds your place in the production schedule while we review your order.
We generate your plan set. Add an engineer review and stamp ($1,950) or a full calcs package and stamp ($4,250) if your county asks for one. You pull the permit. 50% is due when plans are approved and manufacturing begins.
Your panels, frame and trusses are fabricated in Cleburne, Texas. Meanwhile your contractor pours the foundation, either a concrete slab or at least footers under all walls and posts, to our anchor layout. The foundation is not included in the kit price. The balance is due when the kit is ready to ship.
The kit arrives on a semi. The truck carries no unloading equipment, so have a forklift (10,000 lb minimum) or telehandler and an operator on site to offload the bundles.
Panels bolt together on a 4-foot module with no welding on site. You get a full installation manual and install support seven days a week.

Our price list went up. Until [OFFER END DATE], any catalog barn reserved with a $500 refundable deposit gets its August price, which is today's list price minus the increase. On a 4-stall raised center aisle that's $45,895 instead of $50,484.50, a saving of $4,589.50.

You do, or a contractor you hire. Ulrich does not install. The barn is panelized and bolts together on a 4-foot module with no welding on site, and Ulrich says it can be up in as little as two days. Every kit ships with a full installation manual, and install support is available seven days a week.
Many owners hire a local steel-building, pole-barn or carport crew. [Installer network — referral list by ZIP, once launched]
Four parts: the kit (from the price list), freight at $7.50 per mile from Cleburne, an engineering stamp if your county needs one ($1,950 review and stamp, or $4,250 calcs and stamp), and your local costs for the foundation (a slab or footers under all walls and posts, not included), offload equipment and crew. The calculator above puts all of it on one page, and the 3D designer prices freight to your ZIP.
After 8 to 12 weeks of fabrication, the kit ships by common carrier on an 18-wheeler. The truck has no unloading equipment. You need a forklift of at least 10,000 lb capacity, or a telehandler, on site to offload. Check your road, gate and turnaround with the truck-ready checklist.
Your deposit starts your architectural plans. If your building department wants an engineer's stamp, add an engineer review and stamp for $1,950, or a full calculations package with stamp for $4,250. Neither includes a soils engineer. You pull the permit with your county.

Airflow is designed in. The raised center aisle has a 16-inch roof offset, every model has a ventilation gap under the roof, each stall front has a 4×4 grill section, and 24-inch overhangs shade the walls. Ulrich describes the raised center aisle as built to promote ventilation and keep horses comfortable in hot weather. Wall panels are a wood core skinned in steel, not a single bare sheet.
You choose from the catalog configurations shown in the 3D designer, plus colors and the listed options, such as taller sliding doors or a steeper Gable roof up to 8/12. Because the system is modular, you can add stalls later with an add-on stall kit.

Lifetime kick-through on wall panels, lifetime roof paint, 20-year wall paint, and 3 years on craftsmanship. Annual preventive maintenance is required, and moving the barn from its original location voids the warranty. Read the full terms.
